Shockingly, artisanal mining employs 90% of the workforce behind gold extraction but is only responsible for 10% of global gold production. Ethically sourced gold is a chance to empower the small mining communities who contribute so much to global production.

This initiative is powered by the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) who identify small mining organisations to work with. The goal is for their standards of practice to reach the Fairmined Standard, this takes a substantial investment and up to 2 years of hard work. ARM support the miners in their journey to certification, and once certified they can sell their gold to markets across the globe! This partnership ensures continual compliance from the mining community and fair trade for the gold industry.
